Description of Proposed Change:

Change in Certification Status terminology:  From “Provisional” to “Certified Provisional.”

During compliance testing, participating manufacturers are required to submit samples on a quarterly and annual basis throughout the life of their certification. The term for a Manufacturer who has not yet submitted compliant results to GEI by their established schedule (for various reasons) were previously referred to as having a “Provisional” status.

Due to feedback GEI has received from participating Manufacturers and those seeking LEED credit for certified products, the definition of this term is being updated to promote a more clear definition. Therefore, the term “Certified Provisional” will be used in the effort to provide clarification on any potential confusion on the certification status of a product. A “Certified Provisional” product remains a product that is still GREENGUARD certified.
