Certification Standards

The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) provides emissions standards that are required to be met for GREENGUARD Certification. There may also be additional verification requirements, which must be completed before certification can be awarded. After initial certification, there will be prescribed on-going testing, documentation, and verification processes required for demonstration of consistent product performance.
Product Standards
Product standards permit certification of a wide range of products across numerous industries. These include the product types listed below. However, if you would like to certify a product not currently represented in this list, please email us at info@greenguard.org or call us at 800.427.9641. New product type requirements are established as requested, or as required by national/international regulations or programs.
